Why I Should Be Mad

Let’s get out of our head and into our body. Being a mom we encounter A LOT of emotions on the daily.

What are we to do with all of these emotions?

Well we can bury them deep down and never speak of them and let them build up (Resist)

we can throw a fit as a child would and throw things, yell at someone, blame everyone else for how we feel, cry or break things, thinking that will make us feel better (React)

we can avoid feeling anything whatsoever and just seek out pleasure by eating our kids Halloween candy (wait what?) or going on a shopping binge on Amazon to get that dopamine hit that we are seeking so we don’t feel “bad”. (Avoid)

Or we could just be mad.

When was the last time you just allowed yourself to feel whatever emotion you were feeling? What if we just got really good at getting out of our head and into our body. If we could recognize the emotion we have and didn’t try to push it away or resist it.

Amazing things happen when we allow our body to feel.

Feeling is healing.

Start recognizing your negative emotion and looking into your body to feel where your body likes to process said emotion. Is it a tenseness in your chest when your feeling embarrassed, or a welling of pressure behind your eyes when you are feeling sad or the heavy weight on your chest and a shakiness in your hands when you are anxious.

What if we got really good at feeling mad, or sad, or anxious?

I’ll tell you. Life would be better. Emotions are just a vibration in our body that comes from our thoughts. We live our whole life doing one of two things.

We are either trying to avoid feeling an emotion or we want to feel an emotion.

So get well acquainted with them. Learn to allow them in and sit with them. Be in tune with what your body is providing you so you can begin to heal.

When we consciously choose to feel our emotions we don’t compound them with guilt or shame so…..

Just be mad. (and be okay with it)
