The Greatest Tool for Our Kids

Stop enabling, Start empowering. 

Our job as a mom is to love them, offer help and hold them accountable.

That's it.

But a lot of times helping can get blurred with rescuing.

And holding them accountable can look more like not giving them any choices at all.

By offering help we are empowering our children to develop tools and skills by choosing for themselves.

By rescuing our children we are doing it for them and taking away their ability to choose (and make mistakes!).

I’ll tell you what happens when we take their ability to choose away from them…

They become bitter towards us, they rely on us but don’t want to. So naturally they distance themselves but then are so confused because they don’t have the skills to rely on themselves.

And then we become resentful.

So if we want our children to grow and flourish into amazing little human beings we need to love them, offer help and hold them accountable. Let them make all of their own choices in their life so they can become the humans they are meant to be, and we can love them right where they are!
