Letting Go Of The Past

The past can’t let go of you, until you let go of the past.

You want to hear one of the craziest things ever?

Did you know that at any moment in time, you can think about another moment in time and feel the same emotion you experienced possibly decades ago?

It’s true.

Your brain doesn’t know the difference between “real time” and “reliving”.

This is true because our thoughts create our feelings right? Not the actual environment, the people or the circumstances.

So when we don’t process what actually happened in our past, guess what? It holds onto us.

And tight.

If we haven’t processed it, then our brain expends countless amounts of energy trying to avoid that negative emotion.

As you can imagine, the longer time passes, the more energy we exert to avoid said energy.

Which is ironic because our lower brains main objective is to preserve energy.

Anyways, I want you to understand this concept because if we are to move forward without the bands of the past holding onto us we have to learn how to feel.

What you are trying to avoid, that emotion, that story, that pain that you are avoiding….. I don’t want to be to blunt here, but here goes nothing…. What you are avoiding…. is just an emotion…. which creates a vibration in your body.

**Now please, please, please, I say that with gritted teeth because I don’t want you to run off. The pain you’ve experienced is SO VERY VERY real. I don’t want to down play that.

But I do want you to understand the actual mechanics of your brain and whats happening. I want you to understand these basic truths so that YOU can decide how you want to proceed.

Once we understand the inter-workings of our brain, our emotions and the effects on our body and our life. THEN we can make a decision and move forward with what feels true and right for us.

This is some of the work I love to do. Too often I see women who come to me with so much of the past holding onto them. They are stuck spinning their wheels in the present but can’t move forward because the past keeps them stuck. When we begin to do thoughtwork and emotion work we begin to let go of the past so we can boomerang into the life we’ve always dreamed about.

Do the work, let go of the past, so the past can let go of you.
